A two-vehicle accident involving a deer caused heavy damage to a pickup truck. The accident occurred early in the morning on December 30.
A Ford Taurus traveling on Highway 28/67 clipped a deer and sent it careening into the path of a Ford Ranger pickup truck. The deer hit the windshield of the pickup, shattering the glass and causing major damage to the hood and roof. The driver was injured by the impact and had to be treated at a nearby hospital.
An accident with an animal can cause extensive damage that may be extremely costly to repair. Having comprehensive coverage as part of your insurance policy can provide financial protection against the risk of damage caused by animals or other non-collision events.

InsWeb has compiled this year’s list of the cheapest cars to insure after examining multiple factors and over 400 vehicle models. InsWeb is the leading online car insurance comparison web site.
This year the Chevy Equinox took the bottom spot with the Kia Optima and Subaru Outback right behind it.
The number one spot was given to Kia Sedona, followed by the Mazda Mazda5 and the Ford Escape. Many different factors are looked into when determining if a vehicle will be more or less expensive to insure.
Two of the largest factors are the value of the vehicle and vehicle model’s loss history. The loss history is the amount of claims that a model has had. The more claims that model has had, both liability and comprehensive, will cause the insurance on the vehicle to rise.

Fair Isaac Corporation and Fox Business recently reported that approximately 95 percent of car insurance providers use credit reports.
”Insurers use credit-based insurance scores in a variety of ways. Some companies use it for ratemaking, some for underwriting, others do not use it at all,” said Vice President of the Insurance Information Institute Loretta L.
Worters.
For example, State Farm uses FICO’s credit scores along with prospective customers’ numbers of open lines of credit, late payments and accounts in collection when determining a policy’s price. Auto insurance policies are based on two main components: the premium and the deductible. The premium is the basic cost that car insurance companies charge for a policy. Premiums vary depending on the customer and are based on what an insurance provider considers your risk factor.
In determining your car insurance premiums, car insurance companies analyze a variety of factors. Three major influences on your premium include:
Gender- Car insurance companies take a person’s gender into account when determining premiums because studies have frequently shown women to be safer drivers. Men are in accidents more frequently than women and for this reason are often charged more for their premium.
Location- Urban areas have greater traffic and higher accident rates than more rural areas. As a result, the closer to a big city you live the more you will be charged on your premium.
Driving record- Your driving history shows car insurers how risky of a driver you are. For every traffic violation or speeding ticket your receive car insurance providers will most likely raise your policy’s premium.

The office began investigations into the state’s motorcycle insurance industry after one customer complained that they thought they were being overcharged on their motorcycle insurance.
The motorcycle insurance providers in the settlement were Arbella Mutual Insurance Company, One Beacon Insurance, National Grange Mutual, Hanover Insurance Group and Norfolk & Dedham Group. The settlement came out to $12.1 million to be distributed to tens of thousands of motorcyclists.
Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley said, “As this investigation demonstrates, and as the insurance companies in our state know, when consumers bring complaints to our office, we listen and we take action”.

Probably the most common type of car accident occurs when one car rear-ends another and there is only minor damage.
Although “fender bender” car accidents usually do not involve a significant amount of damage to either vehicle, insurance can help cover the cost of whatever repairs are needed.
Some of common repairs needed after a “fender bender” include paint chipping or scratching, bumper repair or replacement, dents, broken headlights and body work. While these repairs may seem small, having insurance coverage that can cover the cost rather than paying out-of-pocket will benefit you in the long run.
Accidents can happen at any time so it is important to always have quality insurance coverage. If you or someone you know is looking to purchase car insurance contact the car insurance agents of Auto Insurance Price Quotes to get a car insurance quote online today.
